The handsets are anticipated to go on sale in India beginning August 14 after their launch on July 26. Preorders are anticipated to begin on the same day as the launch.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 features and specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to feature a 7.6-inch full-HD Dynamic AMOLED display and a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED cover screen. The Galaxy Z Flip 5, on the other hand, is said to have a 6.7-inch full-HD (1,080 x 2,640-pixel) Dynamic AMOLED core display and a 3.4-inch outer display. When folded, the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s larger cover display is anticipated to provide access to Google Messages, YouTube, and Google Maps.

When opened, leaked live images of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 suggest that it will have narrow side bezels and a substantial chin. On the rear are three camera units housed within a slightly elevated camera module, as well as an LED strobe unit outside of it. Additionally, the images depict a nearly gapless folding design, three microphones, and a speaker grille.
The most recent leaked hands-on video and images of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 prototype units revealed a larger folder-shaped outer display with two camera units, but the much-anticipated waterdrop hinge appeared to be absent from the clamshell foldable model. On the right edge of the phone are the volume rocker and power button with an incorporated fingerprint sensor, while the SIM card tray slot is on the left. It appears that the bottom margin contains a USB Type-C charging port.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are rumoured to utilise the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Octa-Core SoC. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 reportedly offers up to 12GB of RAM, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 offers up to 8GB. The phones are anticipated to launch with 256GB and 512GB storage options. These handsets are also rumoured to ship with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5’s triple rear camera system will presumably consist of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a further 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens. The cover display is rumoured to contain a 10-megapixel camera, while the principal inner screen will reportedly feature a 4-megapixel sensor for selfies and video chats.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens. It is probable that the front camera will use a 10-megapixel sensor.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumoured to have a 4,400mAh battery and weigh 253 grammes, while the forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 is rumoured to have a 3,700mAh battery. In addition, the phones are anticipated to support NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C 3.2.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 were rumoured to have an IP58 rating for dust and water resistance, but a subsequent rumour suggests the foldables will continue to be IPX8-rated for splash resistance like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4.
